Let's Talk Ads

What do you think of when you think about "Ads"? Years ago, our minds would immediately go to radio advertisements, billboards, TV commercials... Is that what we think about in 2020?

Promoted or "boosted" posts are the new ads taking over the advertising sphere. Boosted posts may be optimized for likes, comments, and shares or overall brand awareness. These may also bring a call to action (CTA) for directly contacting your business.

Many of the "ads" you see on Facebook or Instagram are promoted/boosted posts.

Facebook is the biggest social network worldwide with 2.7 billion monthly active users, whereas Instagram has nearly 1 billion monthly active users. Granted, most of these users may overlap but if you boost posts on both networks... Could you just imagine the reach!

Boosting and promoting posts is great to use if you're on a small budget. For example, we boosted a post on Instagram for the bare minimum price: $1 per day. It has been three days and we've reached about 150 users per day. That isn't horrible for spending only $1. Viewing your insights directly on the app allows you to see how big your reach has been, how many times users have interacted with the post, and how exactly they interacted with the post (Was it a profile click? Link click? CTA click?)
